Week 2A Social Media Post




From my personal experience, I have found that Twitter, and Snapchat are geared heavily toward personal use. These organizations have designed social media platforms, for wide range of age demographics to increase user accounts. Facilitating conceptual models, and interchangeable filters, sharing specific content. These platforms are user friendly applications, creating identify so ideas and concepts can be shared, and discussed, on open forum ex: Political and Religious discussions. Business users typical want to utilize tools, and commodities that will grow there company, on global network platform.

Facebook  has established its platform to serve many sectors in the social media realm. Marketplace Division  for Facebook exploded onto the scene few years back. Unveiling, new features which can help startup or established entrepreneur market there products . Perspective buyers, and sellers, can generate sales on billions of products, utilizing a secure site. Many corporate organizations are riding the Facebook wave, gaining fresh exposure, reaching new markets that previously never existed. Offering limited promotions, and shared content with their customers. Instagram used unique marketing strategy concept to grow there user accounts, not spending money on company advertising. They partnered directly with other social media platforms. Facebook, Tumblr, helping grow their free memberships, making them #2 ranked social media company. Instagram allows users to follow other member’s profiles. Linking personal and business accounts, tagging them as followers, without directly being connected as associates. This creates global exposure, advertising cost effectively. This gives them freedom to allocate funds to other sectors of the business
       
            YouTube is multimedia channel, available for both personal users and business accounts to share multimedia videos. Enables users to provide variety of content, regarding personal agendas, or products and services offered. This platform is alternative to traditional social media. Sharing content through informational video clips, for users who may not be pre existing “Facebook” users. YouTube’s, multiple video channels, vast spectrum billions of videos. Users have ability to branch out, connecting with specific niche markets. Generating National and International networks. Billions of users have direct accessibility to their content. Identifying with those who would consider themselves visual and auditory learners. All social media platforms, aid businesses and personal accounts to acquire email lists, stimulating followers with recommended products, and services. Google's SEO drives traffic to company's that wouldn't exist through traditional advertising. Personal and business users on social media sites, have a common goal. They all want to be seen and heard, engaging the profile, with positive or negative feedback.

  1. I really liked your perspective on cost effectiveness and how social media is actually benefitting businesses because allot of times I hear that social media and advertising through social media is merely a waste of resources.

  2. Nick, it sounds like you have a good knowledge of the technical side of social media. I don't really know all those details, and hope we learn some in the class. So far, for business, even though LinkedIn is strictly for business, Facebook is the way to go, or at least be the hub for everything else. Our Likeable Social Media book does describe Facebook as that hub. Since each of the social media platforms are becoming more business focused, it makes sense to at least explore each and utilize them to the best of our abilities. We may find some that work good and others that may not, but trying it out regardless of the technicalities is something I am willing to try.

  3. I find it amazing how social media platforms are now all integrated. Like you mentioned, " Linking personal and business accounts, tagging them as followers, without directly being connected as associates". I have noticed that companies use this tool to gather information from competitors.

  4. Hey Nick. I forgot about YouTube being a de facto social media outlet. The reason social media is so available and ubiquitous in our culture is the platforms lend themselves to advertising very easily. Even the capture of user data is met to better fit the end user with adds.
